Moving it right along ...
I'm a bit of a scatter-brained, wanna-be multi-tasker. I do too many things, and start too many projects. If you know me well, you are snickering to yourself ... I can hear you!
When I first created Tracing Handprints, I wanted there to be a place for my random musings to fall ... a place for things to be talked about that didn't fall under the category of "personal" or "family" and that didn't make sense to be written about at other blog locations.
Since then however, I've started blogging for a fun new project for the Plain Dealer, as well as for Savvy Source.
I've decided to take a break from blogging here at Tracing Handprints, and will give more of my attention to those previously mentioned, and Naomi Does Frugal.
Check them out, if you'd like! Browse around a bit, share with your friends!

Run.
I recently purchased ... as a gift for myself ... a gorgeous running necklace.
After I ran my first half marathon last September, I perused various sites and catalogs looking for the perfect piece of bling to wear around my neck, to remind myself that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.
My photo does NOT do this piece of jewelry justice, but it is simple, classic, artful and very meaningful. The rectangle charm simply says "Run" ... and is a reminder that the activity of running simply requires me to lace up my shoes. The circular charm says "13.1" and represents my half marathon distance. I plan to add more charms as I run various distances, but know that the 13.1 will always be special to me.
Do you know a runner? Are YOU a runner?
Visit Audrey's site, Audrey Winkler Designs and peruse the amazing pieces she has to offer. Email her at audrey_winkler@yahoo.com if you'd like to talk with her about designing a unique piece, by creating a piece that is meaningful to YOU.

Six Random Things
I've been tagged by Cleveland Mom. She writes about all of the great stuff happening here in the Cleveland area and you should really take a look!
So I'm going to play along ( I *never* do these things!! ) :
First, my six random things:
1. I used to love cross-country skiing. You'd think I'd pick it back up now that we live here?
2. I never eat eggs (unless they are contained in something baked)
3. I can never correctly shoot a picture of flames/fire.
4. I play the piano - but don't play it enough.
5. I am REALLY good at starting projects.
6. I am REALLY bad at finishing projects.
Next, my six blogs to share with you:
for all things wise : Jen Lemen
for all things yummy : Mommy, What's For Dinner?
for all things witty/parenting : PBS' Supersisters
for all things creative : The Crafty Crow
for all things inspirational : The Mother Letter Project
for all things practical : simple mom
*The rules of The Six Random Things About Yourself:1) Link to the person who tagged you. 2) Post the rules on your blog. 3) Write six random things about yourself. 4) Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them. 5) Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog. 6) Let the tagger know when your entry is up.
I have to admit that I'm not officially playing by the rules. I am not going to let the six bloggers know that I've tagged them ... I'm lazy like that, but I did want to share some of my favorites with you!

Icy Towers
Originally found HERE, I loved these ice towers. Since we are experiencing frigid weather, we decided to make our very own ice towers.
Gather up some plastic containers ... the more varied, the better. Know that no plastic containers were harmed during the "project" so feel free to use up all of them from your cupboard!
Add different amounts of water to each container and let your kiddos go hog wild with the food coloring. Ok, maybe not HOG wild, but let them experiment a bit!
Then place all containers outside to freeze! Ours took about 24 hours, give or take. Smaller containers obviously freeze faster, while the larger ones needed some extra time.
THEN
Once everything has reached a 100% frozen state, assemble your tower.
I have to admit that I did the assembling, outside -- as it was too cold outside for the littles and I just didn't have the heart to bring the mess inside.
Using a bit of salt, I stacked the various shapes on top of each other for a fun result!

(Make sure you take off any clothes that you don't want rainbow colored on accident!)

Goosie Cards Giveaway at Being Savvy Cleveland!
I am always on the hunt for toys and products that are not only enjoyable for our family to use together, but are also "mom made."
Goosie Cards fits the bill in more than one way! Not only is the concept mom-created, but the actual product is one that YOU create!
Goosie Cards® are the first and only personalized photo flash cards for children and proudly made in the USA. Each Goosie Card is unique and created online by uploading personal photos and adding text to individual flash cards.
Goosie Cards offers parents a great way to turn all their wonderful family photo memories into cool, high quality flashcards. They are an innovative learning tool, designed to capture and share precious family moments, while creatively teaching children about their world!
You can make a special set of flash cards for a little one that stars each member of their family to teach them who's who, or maybe their own set of personal ABCs to teach them every letter in the alphabet from their point of view.like M is for Mommy.
The wonderful thing about Goosie Cards is that they are created by YOU and grow with your child as they develop.
Goosie was founded by Jennifer Marchetti, who was looking for a way to teach her child about their family, near and far, through family photos. She believes in parents and their ability to inspire learning in their children through sharing experiences together.
Goosie Cards are a "hands on" learning activity that can be shared with your child every day, on the go or at home.
They help your child learn visual object recognition in a playful way and help develop memory skills as well as teaching reading, language and communication skills through the use of your own personal photos. They are high quality, laminated and big for little hands to hold!
Goosie Cards are colorful, quality photo flash cards that provide opportunities for parents to learn and explore with their kids in creative ways.
For more information about Goosie Cards or to order your own, please visit Jen's site, Goosie Cards.
To win your very own set of Goosie Cards, please leave a comment on my Being Savvy Cleveland site, being sure to leave an email address to get in touch with you!
Contest closes midnight on January 20th.
